Road closure: Essential repairs to gas network underway in Witham


  Essential repairs to maintain safe and reliable gas supplies underway this weekend in Spinks Lane, Witham
■   Spinks Lane closed between Witham Leisure Centre and junction with Bridge Street with diversion in place
■   Local business and facilities open as usual
 
Engineers from Cadent will be working through the weekend to carry out
essential repairs to the gas mains network in Witham.
 
A road closure is in place in Spinks Lane from the junction with Bridge Street. The closure is for approximately 80m up to Witham Leisure Centre. Access is being maintained in the rest of the road and all businesses and facilities in the road, including the leisure centre will be open for business and usual. The closure is currently anticipated to remain in place until Monday afternoon (November 20).
 
A diversion is in place via Spinks Lane, Bridge Street, Collingwood Road, Chipping Hill and Spa Road and vice versa.
 
Cadent Network Supervisor Martin Robinson said: “We’re doing all we can to get this work completed as soon as possible including working through the weekend.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this essential repair may cause but the work must be done to help ensure local area keeps on enjoying safe and reliable gas supplies for cooking and heating.”
Local gas supplies are not expected to be interrupted during the work.
