• A new wave of gas mains replacement will be coming to Bushey in April 2017
• Work will centre on the Aldenham Road area and road closures will be implemented
• Project will help ensure local community keep on enjoying safe and reliable gas supplies for cooking and heating
As springtime flowers sprout up from the earth tough new gas mains will be going beneath it in a new wave of essential work in Bushey.
Engineers will be replacing ageing gas mains in Aldenham Road with highly durable new pipes in an essential project which will help ensure local people keep on enjoying safe and reliable gas supplies for cooking and heating.
Temporary traffic management will be needed to enable work to be carried out as safely and quickly as possible.
Access will be maintained for residents and local businesses will remain open as normal. A signed diversion will be in place via the A41 and A411.
The work is scheduled to be delivered in two phases as follows:
Phase One: Road closure from Saturday 1 April for approximately 14 days subject to completion of work
Aldenham Road will be closed between the junctions of Belmont Road and Silverdale Road as engineers decommission old gas and insert new ones.
Phase Two: Restricted access and temporary traffic lights from Saturday 15 April for approximately 21 days subject to completion of the work
To enable remaining work to be completed access will be restricted onto Aldenham Road using temporary traffic lights.
The traffic lights will be situated on Beechcroft Road, Silverdale Road, Aldenham Road and Hillside Road.
Dilbir Chana National Grid Authorising Engineer said: “This essential work will help ensure local people keep on enjoying safe and reliable gas supplies for cooking and heating.”
