Essential work to replace gas mains in Bridgewater Drive, Southend-On-Sea has been extended after it was discovered additional work needs to be carried out.
Engineers were due to complete the work last weekend. However it was found that additional gas mains replacement work needed to be done and the project is now due to be completed by Tuesday 5 September.
A one way road closure is in place in Bridgewater Road and buses have been diverted.
Cadent is sorry for any inconvenience and will continue to do all it can to ensure the work is delivered with minimal disruption.
The essential work will help ensure the local community keep on having safe and reliable gas supplies for cooking and heating.
