Centre for Warmth Project
The project is based on identifying and partnering with local charities in areas of high deprivation, fuel poverty, and risk to carbon monoxide poisoning, to support people living in vulnerable situations.
We recognise that there are degrees of financial vulnerability, and the increase in cost-of-living continues to exacerbate this. This is why we offer a range of solutions, including mass awareness for those able to self-help to tailored, in-depth support for households in crisis.
We continue to see our award-winning Centre for Warmth programme grow and we have over 415 Centres supporting vulnerable households overcome challenges arising from the increased cost-of living.
We understand the value in creating connections between our various partnerships and have developed relationships between partner organisations to facilitate greater collaboration and allow individuals to benefit from multiple services. This is evident within our Direct Access to Wellbeing Services (DAWS) initiative, where multiple referral pathways have been created, meaning people can be supported by additional services from IE Hub, Citizens Advice, and Act on Energy.
By 2026, we will reach over three million customers with interventions to help them out of fuel poverty of which
Three million people will be provided access to tools and advice to reduce their energy consumption and maximise their income.
Since April 2021 we’ve reached 2,992,427 people, with 386,184 people reached between March 2024 and April 2021.
250,000 living in fuel poverty will be customers provided with one-to-one free energy and income advice consultations.
Since April 2024 we’ve provided 700,208 people with one-to-one energy and income advice.
Have 375 Centres for Warmth across our network by 2026.
