Ageing gas mains under Brooklands Road, Sale, and the surrounding area will be upgraded from 22 June 2026, lasting eight-weeks, as part of a major investment programme to modernise older sections of the UK’s gas network.

This upgrade is part of Cadent’s commitment to future-proof the gas network, ensuring it is ready to support greener, cleaner gases and reduce methane emissions

Kane McLoughlin, Cadent’s Head of Operational Delivery explained, “As the gas emergency service, our engineers were called to a report of a smell of gas on Stacey Street.

Residents in Worcester are being advised of upcoming essential gas works which will see ageing pipelines replaced, alongside temporary changes to local transport routes.

While 1976 may be remembered for a sweltering summer, it was also the year that metallic gas pipes were being installed in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

Residents and business owners in Hemel Hempstead are invited to attend a public event organised by Cadent, the UK’s largest gas distribution network, to learn more about essential gas works taking place in Kingsland Road.

Engineers from Cadent – the UK’s largest gas distribution network – will be starting work in Norwich next week to replace gas pipes that have been underground since the 1950s.
