The Fairway – Leigh-on-Sea

We’re upgrading the old metal gas pipes along The Fairway, Leigh on Sea from 21 July 2025 for ten weeks.

The new pipes will help us to keep you safe and warm whilst reducing the likelihood of us having to come back to make repairs in the future.

We are carrying out these works in a number of phases, using lane closures, so that traffic can only travel one way whilst we move our works along the road.

    Phase 1

Northbound lane closure on The Fairway from Eastwood Road North to no.72.

Woodside junction will be closed for two weeks.

    Phase 2

    Woodside junction closed.

    Phase 3

Northbound lane closure from no.72 to no.120.

Thorndon Park Drive and Belfairs Park Drive junctions will be closed. Access to Woodberry Close will be maintained for two weeks.

    Phase 4

The junction of Eastwood Old Road junction with The Fairway will be closed for two weeks.

    Phase 5

Southbound lane closure on The Fairway from the A127 to junction of Eastwood Old Road for two weeks.

    N.B. - Phases 4 & 5 will be completed together.

    Phase 6

Southbound lane closure on The Fairway from the junction of Moor Park Gardens to no.29.

Moor Park Gardens junction with The Fairway will be closed for two weeks.

    Phase 7

How will the works affect your roads?

To carry out our works safely and maintain the traffic flow, we’ll be using directional lane closures on The Fairway, with temporary closures of the side roads as we move along the road.

During these essential works, please follow diversions and plan extra time for your journeys.

If you have business deliveries, please speak to a member of our team on-site and they will be able to accommodate these for you.

Will my gas supply be interrupted?

If you live or own a business on The Fairway, we may need to interrupt your gas supply for a short time on one or two days and gain access to your property. You’ll receive a further letter to confirm if your gas supply will be interrupted and our engineers will confirm the exact date/s of interruption with you 48 hours before.

Thank you in advance for your patience while we carry out these essential upgrades to ensure that you can continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
