Trace and Repair

If you have been referred for a trace and repair, we will contact you within 24 hours, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), to assess your eligibility.

For qualifying households, we will arrange for one of our Gas Safe registered engineers to visit to check your appliance(s).

Who is eligible?

Eligibility is based on a number of criteria. You must:

Own the property or gas appliance.
Not had a gas service on the appliance in the last 12 months.
Receive qualifying benefits or your household income falls below the maximum income for families receiving child benefit.

Qualifying benefits:

Any member of the household receiving at least one of the following:

Income based Jobseekers Allowance
Income related Employment and Support Allowance
Income Support
Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
Working Tax Credit
Child Tax Credit
Universal Credit
Housing Benefit
Pension Credit Savings Credit

Or claiming Child Benefit with a total household income within the following thresholds.

*Up to age 18.

** Combined annual household income (and not per child).

If you rent your home, you will need to contact your landlord to arrange a safety check for all gas appliances and flues by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
