    The CO Crew

    Why carbon monoxide?

CO is a poisonous gas that you can't see, hear, smell, taste or touch, but exposure to it can be deadly - That’s why it's sometimes known as the Silent Killer!

It's important to know the signs and symptoms of CO, as well as the measures you can take to protect your loved ones.

The CO Crew is a follow on from our hugely successful Safety Seymour scheme that has reached thousands of KS1 children and continues to grow. The crew target children in KS2 in Years 5 and 6.

The session centres around Mimi and Loz, the two members of The CO Crew, who educate children in a fun and engaging way on the dangers of carbon monoxide and how to stay safe.

We’ll provide you with everything for a fun and engaging lesson and involves several areas of the curriculum including STEM, PSHE, Respiratory System, Gases and the Circulatory System.

Please register your interest below and we will get in touch to discuss your session.

What happens in the school session?

Prior to the session, you will receive a pack and a link to resources which will include a letter for parents to inform them about the initiative, information about the session and how it all works as well as key learning interventions and the time required for each session. These areas are flexible, as we recognise that schools have very busy schedules and time can be amended to run between 1 and 3 hours.

Using specially and professionally created digital media we encourage all children to get involved in a relaxed and friendly environment. We take the class on a journey from how carbon monoxide is created, the effects on the human body, what steps to take to avoid exposure, what the symptoms are and how to stay carbon monoxide safe.

At the end of the day the children are able to take home information, in some cases a CO alarm and some CO crew merchandise!
