We believe that the journey to net zero starts at a local level with local people and the LAEP framework is a key part of exploring and understanding local decarbonisation plans, and will be an important element for the National Energy System Operator (NESO) and Regional Energy System Planner (RESP) role.
Our Local Authority and Community LAEP engagement team offers information, insight, data and support for Local Authority Teams, Local Communities and Consultants, to deliver on the UK net zero goal walking hand in hand with local neighbourhoods we supply, on the journey of decarbonisation, providing a clean environment for future generations
Your local area energy plan is a key influence on our network planning and investment, so that we can help homes and business make the green transition.
We have approximately 200 local authorities and 15 million households in our area, which is approximately 50% of UK housing across cadent. We are by far the largest gas distribution network and utility provider to customers and are the largest energy provider in the UK.
Cadent is working across industries with other Gas Distribution Networks, Electricity Networks and the National Energy System Operator to deliver the optimal net zero outcome for communities and people.
We aim to assist in making LAEPs real world achievable and deliverable, and will be honest about the challenges to achieve the net zero objective.
We recognise everyone is at differing stages of their decarbonisation journey and we can and will assist at all points.
