Our Cadent Foundation Community Fund announces new charities to benefit from £120k fund

    24 Apr 2026 Corporate

We are proud to introduce our six new Cadent Foundation Community Fund charities, as voted for by our colleagues. The Community Fund was set up in partnership with Cadent and the Cadent Foundation to enable our colleagues to support and fundraise for local charities that mean something to them.

Our 6 chosen charities will each receive a £20,000 donation from the Cadent Foundation, which will then be topped up by our colleague fundraising over the next two years.

    Let’s meet them:

    • Central - The Myton Hospices - Which provides specialist palliative and end of life care to local people facing incurable illness in Coventry and Warwickshire.
    • East of England – St Helena Hospice providing specialist palliative and end of life care to local people facing incurable illness in north east Essex, supporting them, their families, friends and carers.
    • East Midlands – Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People – providing expert palliative and end-of-life care for babies, children and young people at their hospice, at home or in hospital across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.
    • North London – The Paul Alan Project – providing accessible defibrillators and bleed control kits across England including events and training sessions.
    • North West – The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust providing day trips, residential breaks and seasonal activities for children across the North West whose lives may be impacted by illness, complex medical needs, special educational needs, disability and social disadvantage.
    • West Midlands – Family Care Trust – offering professional care and support services to individuals with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.

In addition to our fundraising, our colleagues will also use their volunteering days to give their time to help with tasks that add more value to the charity.

We are excited to support these deserving charities and see what difference we can make together.

    Cadent

Cadent is the UK’s largest gas distribution network with a 200-year legacy. We are in a unique position to build on strong foundations whilst encouraging the curiosity to think differently and the courage to embrace change. Day to day we continue to operate, maintain and innovate the UK’s largest gas network, transporting gas safely and protecting people in an emergency. Our skilled engineers and specialists remain committed to the communities we serve, working day and night to ensure gas reaches 11 million homes from Cumbria to North London and the Welsh Borders to East Anglia, to keep your energy flowing.

    Future of Gas:

Here at Cadent we support the Government’s plans to reach Net Zero by 2050. That means we’re backing the introduction of hydrogen as a low carbon alternative to natural gas for the future. We know people love the controllability of gas and, with our network already in place, it makes sense to switch to the lower carbon alternative offered by hydrogen, which we believe can keep homes and businesses warm for generations to come.
