We’ve been supporting our local
Trussell Trust foodbanks this Christmas.
Over the last week, we’ve donated much-needed goods and products to foodbanks in Oldham, Coventry and Sheffield, and provided funding for projects near to our Norwich and Slough depots.
We’re donating to foodbanks in Hinckley and Birmingham – they’ve asked if we can make our donation next year, at a time when stocks are depleted. So, we’ll be back in touch with them early in 2020.
We have also had teams volunteer time to help sort mountains of donated goods in Liverpool, so that they can be stocked and in order, ready for distribution in a number of foodbanks in the south of the city.
And, we're making a £5,000 donation this Christmas to another cause that's very close to our heart - our corporate charity since 2017,
Alzheimer’s Society. We help our employees and the wider community understand more about the issues that dementia presents for our customers, and how we can best support people who live with it.
We have a proud connection to the villages, towns and cities we’re based in, and to the 11 million+ customers we distribute a safe supply of gas to. We don’t just work in these communities, we live in them too.
Cadent can trace its roots to these communities back to the 19
th century, providing the local gas emergency response service and managing the huge network of 80,000 miles of underground gas mains and hundreds of above-ground installations.
We are very much a part of the local community. It's in our DNA to look out for and look after people, however and whenever we can.
