Satelytics is a software company that uses artificial intelligence to keep vigilant watch over assets, alerting to conditions outside of our operating integrity window.
On July 29, 2024, Cadent launched the Satelytics trial with the first satellite capture in North London. Satelytics use earth observatory satellites and image acquisition platforms to amass high-resolution imagery. Using this data, they apply their algorithms to monitor methane emissions. The emissions are displayed as heatmap images overlayed on the satellite images. In addition to methane, Satelytics has forty-eight algorithms on offer that apply to a range of applications.
We will be taking multiple captures of an area in North London and East Anglia respectively over the next 6 months, allowing for seasonal variations to be shown. With the results of the first capture in North London picking up leaks across a range of scales, we are excited to see the results of the East Anglia capture soon. Results from the captures will be carefully analysed, providing important learnings for us and the rest of the gas industry.
Our operational and engineering teams are at the forefront of this initiative, ensuring the trial runs smoothly and effectively. Their expertise and commitment are crucial to the success of this project.
