    EasyAssist™

    safety

Would you, or someone you care for find it difficult to turn off your Emergency Control Valve (ECV) in the event of a gas emergency?

If you are in a position which means you would struggle to hold and turn a traditional ECV handle, the EasyAssist™ will help you. It is designed to be activated at the push of a button isolating the gas supply while you wait for the Gas Emergency Service to attend.

It has an additional safety feature so, in the event of a domestic house fire (temperatures exceeding 100c), the EasyAssist™ will automatically activate and shut off the gas supply.

    A free service

Applying for a free EasyAssist™ ECV couldn’t be easier. Simply complete our online form and we will be in contact to arrange a fitting, which will be carried out by one of our own qualified gas engineers.  Supply and fitting are both free of charge to our eligible customers.

    Are you eligible?

Customers must be registered on the Priority Services Register (PSR) – see the PSR eligibility criteria and apply here.
We are able to fit the EasyAssist™ for customers living in our network, if you are unsure if you are a Cadent customer you can find out who your gas distribution network is at FindMyGDN

Note where we provide this service regardless of your gas supplier. You don’t need to change energy supplier or inform your supplier of the device.

    Need help?

If after our fitting you have any questions, please call our Customer Care Team on 0800 389 8000

Note where an EasyAssist is installed in a meter box outside the property, the installation will also be accompanied by an EasyKey that will help with meter box access.

    How to test the EasyAssistTM

If you already have a EasyAssistTM fitted and you think it needs testing, you should arrange for a Gas Safe Registered engineer to do so for you. Always seek professional, qualified help for this type of work. You can find a Gas Safe Registered engineer at Gas Safe Register or by calling on 0800 408 5500.

If you require an EasyAssistTM ECV you may also benefit from a locking cooker valves, which allows a caregiver to easily control when gas can and cannot be used safely once fitted. You can apply for a locking cooker valve to be fitted at the same time as your EasyAssistTM ECV by selecting both on the form below.
