Care Network is a local independent charity providing a range of services that promote independence and wellbeing for the residents of Blackburn with Darwen.
Working alongside their Healthy Homes project, we fund a three-year project which assists low-income households in this area with financial support to keep their homes warm, safe and dry.
Their advisors offer energy saving advice and signposting to relevant services. An annual discretionary amount is used to support households with servicing, repairs and replacement to their home heating appliances (gas and electric) and repairs to make their homes more energy efficient, wind and weather tight. This is done through home visits where hazards are identified within the home and any energy related issues that the resident may have.
They also offer support for tariff checks, fuel switching, help with the use/setting of thermostats and controls and advice around home insulation and energy efficient boilers and appliances.
