Proud to partner with Emmaus

helping our community

Cadent are delighted to announce our new charity partnership with Emmaus.

Over the next two years, teams across Cadent will work closely with the charity to support those experiencing homelessness through fundraising, volunteering, and knowledge sharing.

Who are Emmaus?

Emmaus are a homelessness charity and social enterprise, providing people of all ages with the supportive environment needed to break the cycle of homelessness. Since the first community opened in the UK in 1991, Emmaus has grown quickly, with 29 communities spread across the UK. Currently, the charity supports over 850 companions, providing a safe home, training, support services and meaningful work for as long as an individual may need it.

Tony Ballance, Chief Regulation Officer at Cadent said:

“Cadent are thrilled to announce Emmaus as our new charity partner. We strive to be a force for good in the communities we serve, and by partnering with charities like Emmaus, we can reach those that need our support the most.

“Both organisations share the desire to keep people warm while protecting the planet, and we are looking forward to working closely with Emmaus to contribute towards sustainable solutions for homelessness”

Charlotte Talbott, CEO, Emmaus said:

“Emmaus are delighted to become Cadent’s new charity partner. We see real strength in the partnership as we have so much in common – we share a commitment to keeping people safe and warm, creating opportunities for growth and protecting the environment. We believe that working together we can help those who have experienced homelessness to move forward with their lives”

The partnership with Emmaus follows Cadent’s successful two –year partnership with the Alzheimer’s society that saw them raise over £400,000.

Cadent

Cadent is the UK’s largest gas distribution network with a 200-year legacy.  We are in a unique position to build on strong foundations whilst encouraging the curiosity to think differently and the courage to embrace change.  Day to day we continue to operate, maintain and innovate the UK’s largest gas network, transporting gas safely and protecting people in an emergency.   Our skilled engineers and specialists remain committed to the communities we serve, working day and night to ensure gas reaches 11 million homes from Cumbria to North London and the Welsh Borders to East Anglia, to keep your energy flowing.

Future of Gas: Here at Cadent we support the Government’s plans to reach Net Zero by 2050. That means we’re backing the introduction of hydrogen as a low carbon alternative to natural gas for the future. We know people love the controllability of gas and, with our network already in place, it makes sense to switch to the lower carbon alternative offered by hydrogen, which we believe can keep homes and businesses warm for generations to come.
