Ingatestone High Street

Start Date: 18th July

Duration: 7 weeks

We are upgrading a gas pipeline in your area.

We are carrying out work to upgrade ageing gas pipes in your area.

Almost 90% of homes in the Ingatestone area have gas central heating.

Some of the gas mains that carries gas to this area have reached the end of their natural operating lives.

We’re replacing the old metallic mains with durable plastic. This will ensure a safe supply long-term and future-proofs the network for the arrival of greener gases like hydrogen.

We will mainly be working in Deepdene, Maltings Chase and High Street.

This work will take place over seven weeks, starting 18th July and ending at the beginning of September. We’ve worked with your Council to plan in this work for school summer holidays when roads are usually that little bit quieter.

Our teams will be working seven days a week.

A few changes whilst we carry out this work:

  • The 351 bus – Chelmsford to Ingatestone
    • With the agreement of First Bus and National Highways, we will divert this route via the A12. This will change approximately eight stops.
  • Businesses will remain open, but the road closure will stop road access for the following:
    • Outside 112 High Street (near The Bell pub) to junction of Deepdene.
    • Post Office Road – area will be affected in Phases 3 and 4.
    • Doctor’s Surgery / Pharmacist – located within the works area.
      • If you plan on visiting either of these, please get in touch for more information about this.
