So far, the celebrity driven charity has raised £950 million in the UK. But it's mainly the public that brings in the money.
And National Grid has played a big role in adding to those coffers. National Grid Hinckley has been an ardent supporter of Comic Relief – and many other charities – for a number of years.
Tanya Upton, National Grid organiser, said: "We've long supported Comic Relief, and have done so with lots of enthusiasm. Every year our charity events have become bigger and better – and this year will be no exception. Once again our caring team have thrown themselves into the challenge."
On Friday (13 March) employees at National Grid Hinckley will be doing something "funny for money" in the canteen and throughout departments. There's a pitch and putt challenge, table top pool, quizzes, sweepstakes, and face-painting. And, to capture all the magic there will be a professional photo-booth.
Healthy smoothies are on offer, and can even be served at people's desks.
Last year National Grid Hinckley raised more than £2,300 and intends to smash that sum this year.
National Grid will match the money raised on Friday (13 March) by each member of staff, helping to increase the total for Comic Relief.
