This press release relates to Cadent work. It does not have Cadent branding on it, due to this press release being published prior to 1st May 2017, when this gas distribution business was part of National Grid’s group of businesses.
The West Midlands Gas Alliance is currently renewing gas mains in the Lower Wick area of the city and engineers have spotted the traders approaching residents and offering to resurface drives and paths.
Gas Alliance engineer Alan Lane said: 'These traders are implying that they are working in conjunction with the Gas Alliance. We want to advise people that neither of the Gas Alliance partners, National Grid nor Morgan Est, carries out this type of resurfacing work.'
West Midlands Gas Alliance is a partnership of two companies, National Grid and Morgan Est plc, a major utilities contractor. The work being carried out in Lower Wick is part of National Grid 30 year programme to improve the safety and reliability of the gas supply network by replacing all metal gas pipes that lie within 30m of property.
