Safeguarding vulnerable customers

We’re committed to doing the right thing for our customers and offer a little more to those living in vulnerable situations. We have a number of services available to keep our customers safe and warm, these include;

  • Operating a gas emergency service for gas escapes and suspected carbon monoxide (CO)
  • Providing advice and training on the signs and symptoms of possible CO
  • A free service for those living with Dementia – locking cooker valves
  • Support and advice on how people can register for the priority services register
  • Information on how to connect to the gas network for free

Our successes

In 2017/18, we:

  • completed 1,116,439 CO surveys
  • gave out 20,575 free CO alarms
  • supplied and fitted over 400 locking cooker valves, free of charge
  • processed 4,262 PSR registrations
