Our different roles:

Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be employed to work as part of our Operate & Maintain division, responsible for a number of functions such as our Pipelines, work on our Pressure Control Systems or maintenance of our Mechanical and Portable Electrical equipment.

Your background may be from pressure asset environment or you may have a strong mechanical & electrical background. Perhaps you have experience with street works and cathodic protection?

Repair Support Engineer

The role of a Repair Support Engineer is really varied.

Part of a two-person team, you'll respond to gas escapes, working round-the-clock shifts to maintain supply and keep both you and our customers safe – for us, policy & procedure is of the utmost importance.

You'll develop your skills and experience, working on gas mains and learning how to operate a variety of equipment. Working outdoors and liaising with the public you will be the figurehead of our business driving forward our image in the communities we serve!

With a starting salary of £22,260 pa you will also attract a performance related bonus, shift and call out allowances and payments for any additional hours worked. With us, you will have real earning potential.

Emergency Lead Engineer

Qualified as a First Call Operative, our Emergency Lead Engineers are our front line response to gas escapes.

Working on contracted and emergency jobs you’ll be happy working alone, during unsociable hours and liaising directly with customers and the emergency services. You’ll also carry out the scheduled installation, replacement and maintenance of gas meters for both domestic and commercial properties.

Are you Gas Safe qualified? Have you got experience with installation and maintenance of gas equipment? With a constant focus on the safety of both life and property you will reflect the integrity of Cadent's Operations team within the communities we serve.

Recruitment process

What to expect:

Sending us your application is just the first step, we've broken down each stage of our recruitment process so that you know what to expect every step of the way!

Apply online

No matter how you find us, we'll need you to apply through this careers site so that we can capture all the information we need to learn more about you.

Application review

Once you have applied, we'll reply straight away so that you know we have your details. Then we will look through your application asap to check you have some of the fundamentals we may need (eg the right qualifications).

Telephone interview

Assuming you've got what we've asked for and you pass through our intitial applicatoin review then we'd then love to speak to you on the phone to understand more about you and why you are interested in joining us.

Attend an assessment day

For those that impress us on the telephone (and are equally impressed by us), we will invite you to come and meet us in person for an assessment centre. This is our chance to really understand what you have done in the past and how you will fit into our team. It sounds scarier than it is!

Feedback

Unfortunately spaces are limited in our Field Engineering teams so not everyone will be successful. However we will always give you feedback even if you aren't made an offer to join us, to hopefully help you on your way to securing your perfect job.

Offer

Shortly after your assessment center we will let your know if we will be making you an offer to join one of our teams. A member of our recruitment team will talk you through the details so that you can make an informed decision.

Onboard

Now comes the paperwork! This step covers the formalities needed to bring you on board, and will involve things like sending you a formal offer of employment, checking your right to work in the UK, and taking references.
