Lytham St. Annes: details of project to upgrade 19th century gas main

Duration: Approx 1 year
Start date: April 2021

Updates :What you need to know

Wherever possible the new pipes will be inserted into the old gas mains which will reduce the need for large excavations. However, some of the work will require trenches to be dug due to the size of the gas mains which will need to be installed. Ageing gas service pipes supplying individual properties will also need to be replaced or existing PE supplies transferred to the new pipe.

To carry out this work engineers will need to switch off the gas supply to affected properties for approximately 12 hours. We will be communicating with affected properties involved nearer the time. This work is part of our ongoing investment across its network to replace and upgrade old gas.
